Following are some examples of stories written by our Level 2 ESOL students. Proficiency for our Level 2 students ranges from SPL (Speaker Proficiency level) 3 to 4.

My name is Felix. I’m from Ecuador. I have two sisters and no brothers. My parent’s names are Felix and Amelia. They live in Ecuador. My sister lives in Chile. Sometimes I miss my family. I wish we were together. Maybe someday.

Domingo is my classmate. He is from Dominican Republic. He is married. He has two daughters, and one son. He is thirty five years old. He is a good student and very friendly. He lives in Lawrence.

My name is Leonardo I was born in Dominican Republic on May 12, 1955 in the city of San Francisco De Macoris. I’m fifty four years old. I have been married for thirty two years. I have three children: two girls and one boy. I have four grandsons. I live in South Lawrence, Massachusetts. I work at Notre Dame High School. I’m very happy because God is good to me.

My name is Hansel and I have a black car. My car is very nice. It is a Camry 1990 and it doesn’t need much gas. My car has four doors and two big lights. It’s very old but I love my car. The inside is black leather. I have a good teacher. She is the best. With her, I’m learning a lot of English. I like my classmates. They are nice people.

Susan is a nurse. She lives in Methuen. Her house is big. She is my friend and neighbor. She’s very nice and friendly. Sometimes we take a walk around the neighborhood. She walks to work every day. It only takes ten minutes. She works in the Hospital near our house. We like the neighborhood a lot. We live near the mall. Sometimes we go shopping together and have a good time.
